How To Start Your Career As A Freelance Writer
Learn the essential steps to get started with your writing career. Here are three (3) basic steps to guide you how.

1.     Setup a blog. Who isn’t familiar with the saying – “Practice makes perfect”? What better way to hone your skills than to blog your thoughts away? Weblogs are a great tool to express your sentiments about anything in this world. If you love cooking, you can go personal by blogging about your favorite dishes, compiling yummy recipes and doing reviews on the top restaurants in the city. Or you can choose to opt for something technical like if you are an internet marketer, start composing tutorials on how to improve web traffic, designing infographics about the SEO trends or sharing the latest news about Google algorithm changes. Use your blog as a portfolio. Stick to a niche and focus on giving great content. The more buzz your weblog creates, the higher the chance you’ll get noticed by many. Consider tying up with one or two advertisingnetworks. This is a great opportunity to earn money from home as well.

2.     Build your reputation online. Having a weblog is not enough though. You need to establish who you are on the web. Almost all employers check out social media profiles before they hire a potential employee. Hence, if you are eyeing for a work-at-home post from a reputable company where you can be contracted to submit 20 to 40 articles per week, it’s best to get your profile up on the top social networking sites. Sign up on LinkedIn and enter your work information there. Get an about.me URL and post your resume. Update your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Do not forget to include your website URL on all these. Join communities and discussions. Let your voice and expertise be heard by everyone in the industry.

3.     Explore the web. There are a lot of opportunities to earn money online (www.earnmailer.com) if you know where to find it. There’s Odesk and Fiverr. There are technical sites to submit content to and get paid for it like FirstWebDesigner for web designers or WorldStart for computer techies. Whichever avenue you take, always add your credentials and social media profile.
