Small ways to earn extra cash during Christmas Season

Everyone wants some spare change especially during the holidays. With all the parties to attend to; the gatherings you’ll be hosting for family, friends, office mates, and more; and the many gifts you’ll be giving away, some extra cash would certainly go a long way. The big question, however, is how do you earn these loose change?

Fortunately, here are some ways on how to make money fast this Christmas season.

Be Santa for Hire

santa, santa meme, santa claus, santa clause is fake
If you don’t mind dressing up in a red costume, adding on a few pounds (in the form of a prosthetic tummy), and putting on a white wig and a full set of white facial hair, then you can be Santa for hire. You see, every year during Christmas, Santas are in demand, making appearances in parties, wishing people a Merry Christmas in the malls, and asking little kids (in special events) what they want to get for Christmas. It’s not exactly the most lucrative or the most convenient way to earn some extra cash this season, but it does get the job done.

Online gigs

If you don’t have the luxury of time and you find it too much of a bother to go somewhere else to work, then you can just earn moneyfrom home by doing some online gigs. You see, there are a lot of opportunities to earn some extra cash online – as an online researcher, virtual assistant, technical writer, blogger, or transcriber. Heck, you can even get paid by just clicking on some online advertisements, submitting articles, creating email addresses, or simply by leaving comments.

Another good thing about online gigs is that most of them are available all year round, so you can continue earning some extra cash online even after the holidays.

Sell Christmas goodies
Christmas, goodies
If you are into artworks and/or you love baking, then you can use these skills to make some Christmas goodies for sale. Build some Christmas lanterns; decorate some socks, or simply make some fancy Christmas cards and sell them. You can also bake some cookies, chocolate cakes, or other pastries and put a little bit of Christmas spirit into them.

You can sell all these stuff to friends or you can choose to post them online. Whichever the case is, don’t expect a quick return though. Selling usually takes a bit of time, but when it does pickup, you’ll be getting orders and more than just loose change for Christmas.

Five (5) Basic Reasons To Homeownership

Owning a home is one of the biggest financial decisions anyone can make. The weight of deciding whether to buy or not to buy creates a greater impact especially on first-time homebuyers.

Why Purchase A Home

While it is generally a dream-come-true to majority of the population, some consider this disadvantageous. This is especially true if you’re the type of person who travels a lot and moves often enough from one city to another in the course of your job.

Learn the benefits of homeownership. See if it’s a suitable option for you and your family.

1.       Basic necessity of man. You cannot survive without shelter. Everyone needs someplace to stay in somewhere, where you can rest your body everyday and be protected from the natural elements like the sun and rain and phenomenon like typhoons and earthquakes. Needless to say, it is a human need.

2.       To have a place you can call your own. Owning a property represents stability and security. This is all yours. This is where your heart is. You can do whatever you want with it without worrying about anybody’s criticism. You can have the privacy you crave so much, you can paint the room, add a furniture or fixture or install a garden at the backyard. In short, you can do whatever you please to make it personalized according to your taste.

3.       To be part of the community. This is where you can settle down, plant your roots and start a family. This is where you can get involved with the rest of the people, become a member of the society, practice your right to vote, join clubs and many more.

4.       More affordable than renting. First off, it’s getting quite easy to acquire a loan and purchase a house these days. The government has several housing programs for everybody who’s looking to build their first residence. For instance, the Pag-ibig Fund offers rich variety of solutions for Filipino migrants working overseas which make it faster for OFWs to shop for various house and lot for sale all over the Philippines. Second, the cost of rentals is forever rising. Instead of allotting your hard-earned money for rent, why not use that as a capital for a new home.

5.       Makes good investment. Acquire a property and you invest in your future. Real estate rarely depreciates. You can always sell the land and get its monetary worth should you decide to move elsewhere in the future.

How To Start Your Career As A Freelance Writer
Learn the essential steps to get started with your writing career. Here are three (3) basic steps to guide you how.

1.     Setup a blog. Who isn’t familiar with the saying – “Practice makes perfect”? What better way to hone your skills than to blog your thoughts away? Weblogs are a great tool to express your sentiments about anything in this world. If you love cooking, you can go personal by blogging about your favorite dishes, compiling yummy recipes and doing reviews on the top restaurants in the city. Or you can choose to opt for something technical like if you are an internet marketer, start composing tutorials on how to improve web traffic, designing infographics about the SEO trends or sharing the latest news about Google algorithm changes. Use your blog as a portfolio. Stick to a niche and focus on giving great content. The more buzz your weblog creates, the higher the chance you’ll get noticed by many. Consider tying up with one or two advertisingnetworks. This is a great opportunity to earn money from home as well.

2.     Build your reputation online. Having a weblog is not enough though. You need to establish who you are on the web. Almost all employers check out social media profiles before they hire a potential employee. Hence, if you are eyeing for a work-at-home post from a reputable company where you can be contracted to submit 20 to 40 articles per week, it’s best to get your profile up on the top social networking sites. Sign up on LinkedIn and enter your work information there. Get an about.me URL and post your resume. Update your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Do not forget to include your website URL on all these. Join communities and discussions. Let your voice and expertise be heard by everyone in the industry.

3.     Explore the web. There are a lot of opportunities to earn money online (www.earnmailer.com) if you know where to find it. There’s Odesk and Fiverr. There are technical sites to submit content to and get paid for it like FirstWebDesigner for web designers or WorldStart for computer techies. Whichever avenue you take, always add your credentials and social media profile.
